Operating hours will be: Opening day: Saturday November 17, 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.; Standard Operating Hours (starting Sunday, November 18): Every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Santa's studio is located across from Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse on the yellow brick road.

    December 1, 2013 - Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus can hardly wait for A Candy Cane Christmas in Bonner Springs, Kansas on Monday, December 3, in Downtown Bonner Springs. This annual holiday event features a free chili supper, parade, Mayor’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony, caroling, food drive and refreshments with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. Oak Street, the main street downtown, is festively decorated with candy canes and red and white lights throughout the holiday season.

    December 7, 2013 - Two sessions (8:30 a.m. - 10 a.m. OR 10:30 a.m. - 12 noon) - The Parks and Recreation Department will be holding the 12th annual “Breakfast with Santa” at The Lodge at Ironwoods Park. Join us on Saturday, December 8 from 8:30-10:00 a.m. (Session I) or 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (Session II) for an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, provided by the Leawood Lion’s Club.

    All participants will create a holiday craft. Get your picture taken with Santa and view it online at www.leawood.org. Pictures will be available to print for FREE from the Leawood website shortly after the event. Pictures will not be given on site.

    Don’t forget to bring your wish list! The Parks and Recreation Mascot “Leawoody” will also be on hand to greet kids and help Santa.

    While you’re at the park be sure to stop by the Oxford School House (FREE Admission) for “Holiday Traditions on the Prairie”. Learn about holiday celebrations on the plains at the turn of the century. Open from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 8.

    Registration deadline for Breakfast with Santa is November 30th. Space is limited and the event fills quickly!  $9 per person (residents); $11 per person (non-resident).

Bring the entire family for this festive holiday event. Enjoy holiday music performed by area singers. Mayor Ken Sissom will light this year's holiday tree followed by a visit from Santa, arriving via a Merriam Fire Department truck. Hot chocolate and warming fire will be available to help warm you up. A great way to start off the holiday season.

    Join Santa and Mrs. Claus on Saturday, December 7, 2013 for Christmas Around Town. An evening full of holiday activities awaits you, Dickens Carolers, hand Painting, holiday arts and craft activities, and of course Santa Claus!

    The evening will begin at 4:30 p.m. with local music and dance groups performing at City Hall, followed by the Mayor and Santa throwing the switch to light up the Mayor’s Christmas tree at 5:15 p.m. Then the festivities continue from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Shawnee Town 1929. Various Downtown businesses will also be hosting open houses throughout the afternoon.
