5 Ideas for FREE Fall Fun in Kansas City

Have some fun indoors this Fall!

The cooler temps are here and with them, brings the sudden urge to find fun indoor things to do in the Kansas City metro area.  There are certainly plenty of fun indoor kids' activities in KC, but we're highlighting our top 5 with you because we think they're worth mentioning.  Enjoy!

Jo Ho Storyteller @ Johnson County Museum
Every third Wednesday of the month, join Jo Ho Storyteller for stories and activities for little ones all season long.  Registration is not necessary for individual families, however groups of ten or more are encouraged to register.  FREE and open to the public.  Location:  Johnson County Museum, 6305 Lackman Rd., Shawnee, KS,

Crown Center Puppet Series
Yes, it's back.  The tradition of hosting a puppet series continues and everyone's invited to enjoy FREE performances from some of the most entertaining puppeteers. Crown Center is located at 2450 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, MO. Here's the lineup of scheduled show:
October 5 - Paul Mesner Puppets
October 12 - Bob Kramer Marionettes of St. Louis
October 19 - Clement McCrae Puppets
October 26 - StoneLion Puppet Theatre

Parkside Community Center Play Space
This space is perfect for cold weather indoor fun. Make plans to meet friends and enjoy children's indoor play area and open gym - for FREE!  Little ones will enjoy riding tricylcles or shooting hoops during gym time.  There is also a coffee house located inside with free WiFi access. Closed Mondays; open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Parkside is located inside Cedar Ridge Christian Church, located at 8839 Lackman Road, Lenexa, KS.

Kaleidoscope Family Art Sessions
Kids will love the hands-on approach to creating artful masterpieces along with their accompanying adult in these FREE 40 minute long sessions. Free tickets are available on a first come basis until any session becomes full. Reservations are only required for groups of 15 or more people (children and adults). Groups of 15 or more who arrive without a reservation risk not being admitted due to space limitations.  Find Kaleidoscope at 2500 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, MO.

Children's Corner
A monthly session where kids will enjoy storytelling, dancing, and musical activities. These FREE activity sessions are offered the first Wednesday of every month at 10 a.m. at Tomahawk Ridge Multipurpose Room, located at 11902 Lowell Ave., Overland Park, KS.
